Peels
Taking to the skin with TCA Peels
Superficial or medium depth TCA (Trichloroacetic Acids) skin peels are still the safest and most effective way of improving skin texture and to reduce fine lines and wrinkles with very little down-time and low risk compared to lasers. A series of 2 to 4 superficial low concentration TCA peels can bring results as good as one deep “blue peel” or a course of laser resurfacing.
Renew the skin you are in
TCA causes a deeper peel than glyocolic acid. Modifying the concentration of the solution can alter the depth of the peel and subsequently reduce the usual downtime (peeling of the skin requiring a reduced social life). TCA peels can effectively improve many conditions, including:
- Dull, weathered skin
- Freckling
- Blotchy pigmentation (including the mask of pregnancy)
- Sun damage (including precancerous lesions)
- Fine wrinkles
It is safe and it has been around for a long time
TCA is a non-toxic chemical, used to perform skin peels for over 30 years. Unlike some other types of peels, TCA peels have the additional advantage of creating a fresh natural appearing complexion, while preserving the normal skin colour. For this reason, they are often referred to as "freshening peels". Although one peel can significantly improve the appearance of the skin, some skin problems are deeper than others. It is possible that you may require more than one peel to achieve your best results. FAQs.
